Pottery taster course

Enjoy a unique day in the Tuscan country side! Early in the morning we head towards Impruneta to start the “pottery taster course”  with Sergio Ricceri. A terra cotta artisan from Impruneta, member of the Ricceri family whose history has been documented back to the 16th century. Sergio carries on the family tradition with constant experimentation both in terms of materials and finishing. He has studied in depth the chromatic effects of the glazes of Luca Della Robbia (famous Florentin sculptor) and collaborates with artist and designers from around Italy and the World.

Hands on clay is the device of this event! Learn how to work on the potter’s wheel and how to create with moulds and by hand, guided by Sergio. See what it takes from the common clay to the master piece. During the course you will hear everything about the history of terra cotta and how it influenced the art and living during time.

Afterwards enjoy a car ride through the beautiful Tuscan landscapes to go for lunch, consisting in a rich Antipasto, a Primo or Secondo piatto of your choice, wine, water and to finish coffee.

After lunch we head back to Florence.

The course lasts about 3 hours.
At the end you will get a personalized certificate of your participation.
